I have been painting since the age of 13, drawing in great detail since 5 years of age. I studied professionally at the age of 17 in California, after which I journeyed through the United States working and painting and studying art with another 4 years of professional training from colleges in the Midwest. I paint straight onto the canvas first with a rough draft from my imagination, unless painting from real life or photos from my customers. My aim and goal in life is to create with acrylic and glazes as much clarity as are achieved with oils. Acrylics are a journey at this time to experiment with, mixing the colors is like seasoning a gourmet meal. You should be able to feel, smell, even taste the colors as they go on the canvas. I believe that the artist’s mind should be theirs unless you are painting for a patron, the magic that can come out of a patron’s mind as you paint for them is like crawling into their imagination. Several of my murals have been done with great participation from the client, and the end result has been a wonderful experience for both of us.
